Status of Recommendations

Many of the recommendations made are based on a variety of evidence, such as – but not limited to – studies and practitioner advice (which are sourced in the references provided). They may not have been adopted as medical consensus. While clinical experience and research to date are promising, recommendations may be subject to controversy and differences of opinion among medical authorities. We do our best to consult the literature objectively and only provide the strategies that show the most effectiveness, however, public health agencies and regulatory bodies may have taken positions that are contrary to the views expressed in our materials. For example, Health Canada and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have not approved ivermectin specifically for COVID-19 or other repurposed medications such as hydroxychloroquine. Such medications are repurposed drugs and recommended for uses other than their FDA originally approved uses. This is a common practice in medicine known as “off-label” use.
